🚀 New Caching Architecture — Core Feeds Now Powered by Cloudflare's Global Network | 4/10
We've redesigned how Pickful loads pages — feeds are CDN-cached across Cloudflare's 300+ city network, with personal data loaded dynamically.
Hey Pickful community,
Today we’re shipping a major architectural upgrade that fundamentally changes how Pickful loads pages.
A new caching model
Previously, every page visit required the server to generate a personalized response for each user — query, assemble, render, send. We’ve redesigned this from the ground up: pages are now cached and served by Cloudflare’s global network, while your personal data (likes, bookmarks, notifications) is loaded dynamically after the page arrives.
This means wherever you are, your page is served from the nearest Cloudflare node — a network spanning 300+ cities worldwide. Your personal state is restored client-side in milliseconds, with no perceptible difference in the experience.
What’s covered in this release
We started with the highest-traffic, most experience-critical surfaces: the Home feed, Explore, and Latest post lists — the core paths nearly every user passes through on every visit.
This is just the beginning. We’ll be rolling the new caching model out to more features in the coming weeks.
We’d love to hear from you
If you notice pages loading faster — or run into anything unexpected — drop your feedback in the server experience testing topic. Your input helps us tune the new system.
Live on Web, iOS, and Android — no app update needed.
