Today we shipped a round of native app improvements alongside a set of performance upgrades on the web side. Here’s what’s new.

📱 Native App Updates

Smarter compose button (FAB)

The floating compose button on iOS and Android now shows only when you’re signed in — and automatically hides when you’re on the compose page. Less clutter, better focus.

Scroll-to-hide navigation (iOS)

The bottom tab bar now hides when you scroll down and reappears when you scroll up — just like the Android experience we shipped earlier. More screen space for content, smoother reading.

These app features require updating to the latest version on the App Store or Google Play.

⚡ Performance Upgrades (No App Update Needed)

Fonts now self-hosted

The Space Grotesk font is now served from our own servers instead of Google Fonts. Faster load times for everyone, especially users in China where Google’s CDN is blocked.

Faster JS delivery

Switched JavaScript dependencies from esm.run to jsDelivr — better reliability and speed in China.

HTTP caching for posts and coins pages

Post detail and coin price pages now support HTTP caching, making repeat visits noticeably faster when served via CDN.

A lot of this came directly from user feedback — slow loads in China, the compose button getting in the way. We’ll keep improving every detail. Thanks for the reports.
